Floor distribution boards

Floor board is a convenient and practical metering and distribution device for combining power and low-current power lines in multi-level buildings. Floor shields must be installed in the networks of apartment buildings with solid grounding; it is also convenient to make branches with the help of SHE using both copper and aluminum wires, and the use of replaceable frames allows you to install any type of meter.

Purpose of floor boards

Storey switchboard is a mandatory element of power supply schemes for residential and non-residential multi-storey buildings with a large number of current collectors. In the wiring diagrams of apartment buildings and multi-level commercial facilities, the storey board combines the functions of distribution, accounting and protective equipment:

  • receives and distributes energy resources to all rooms on the floor;
  • keeps track of consumed food;
  • protects distribution lines from short circuits, overloads, current leaks and other emergencies;
  • prevents electrical injuries when accidentally touching a conductive element in case of broken insulation.

Types of floor panels

The design and equipment of the FP are quite diverse; floor panels differ among themselves in the way of installation, the number of group lines, functions and equipment. The modular design of the device expands the possibilities of installing various electrical devices; depending on the purpose and functionality, there are two types of shields:

  • metering and distribution networks unite local networks of premises on the floor and keep track of energy consumption;
  • switchgear – provides power supply to panels in groups serving several rooms.

By the type of installation, the shields are divided into hinged and built-in; the main line is connected by means of clamps without cutting the main line. A hinged floor shield is suitable for wiring power grids in cable ducts and is often found in monolithic buildings; for the convenience of attaching to the wall, the shield is equipped with an additional casing. Built-in FP are installed in specially equipped niches and are divided into two types depending on the method of fastening:

  • one-piece – screwed into a niche with the back wall;
  • frame – do not have a back wall and are fixed with spacer screws at four points – two on the bottom and two on the roof.

Construction of floor panels

The storey switchboard is a metal welded IP31 enclosure with a corrosion-resistant coating, protected from unauthorized access by means of locks and locks. The internal space of the case is divided into two or three compartments, which can accommodate up to 20 groups of devices; a separate task is assigned to each of the compartments.

  • Accounting compartment – intervenes meters and an automatic switch to disconnect the main line; there is usually a reading window on the door.
  • Subscriber compartment – contains group input devices with differential automatic devices or RCDs and an operational panel.
  • Low-current compartment (optional) – used to connect low-current equipment – radio, telephone, TV, router, intercom, fire alarm, etc.

Cables are led to the shield through the holes inside the perforated profile structure of the low-current compartment; shielding is provided to protect against interference generated by high-current equipment. On sale there are modifications of distribution boards with standard (right-side) and mirrored (left-side) placement of the low-current compartment. The doors of the accounting and low-current compartments are locked with a key, the subscriber compartment is latched, and the operational panel is hidden behind a false door.

In SHE circuits, TN-S and TN-C-S grounding systems are used with two clamps: the N bus is intended for neutral conductors, and the PE bus is for grounding wires. In older TN-C systems, it is first necessary to separate the neutral protective conductor into neutral and protective conductors.

For safety reasons, grounding is connected separately from the N bus to a metal platform or switchboard housing, without connecting a working zero and a protective conductor under one terminal. Upgraded TN-C-S 0 systems have a separate bus for separating the PEN conductor, located in a place inaccessible to the user.

Markings and purpose

The marking system of floor panels displays the purpose, equipment and standard size of products: the capital letters FP mean “floor panel”, the number in front of the letters “st” shows the number of meters, and the numbers at the end – the dimensions of the model (determined from the table in the reference book).
