Technical electricity metering system
The introduction of integrated energy accounting software systems makes it easier to find ways to reduce electricity consumption without compromising the performance of power equipment. What is the difference between commercial and technical electricity metering systems
Commercial and technical electricity metering pursue different goals and have different legal status. Commercial accounting of energy consumption is focused on determining the amount of supplied energy in financial terms and billing to the consumer.
Technical accounting data are not considered legally significant and are used within the enterprise in order to control energy consumption. An automated commercial accounting system should ensure the uniformity of measurements and are subject to legislative regulation.
Technical accounting
In the course of technical accounting, the volume of electricity that is generated, transmitted and consumed in production is determined; the task is to monitor and analyze energy consumption. Information is collected with the help of counters and processed with the help of processor devices; monitoring results are entered into the database.
The technical metering circuit in the distribution network is represented by multimeter analyzers that are connected to a common bus. The automated system for the technical accounting of electricity operates with a wide range of data coming from different tariff zones:
- line and phase voltage and current;
- generated and consumed power – active, reactive, apparent;
- frequency and harmonics of current and voltage;
- maximum and minimum values of controlled parameters.
In intelligent metering systems, technical electricity metering fills databases for processing commands to manage the distribution and consumption of energy resources for each tariff zone. The control algorithm keeps the electricity consumption for each branch of the distribution network within the established limits; the risk of exceeding power consumption limits during peak loads is reduced.
Commercial accounting
Commercial energy metering is performed using commercial meters; to transmit readings at a distance, modem sets are used that form a cellular communication channel with the services of the energy supplier or an internal service responsible for billing with power suppliers. The number of information transmitted through commercial metering channels includes payment data for consumed active and reactive energy.
The purpose of the automated electricity metering system
